Strengthening compassion for animals drives 100% of the work at Mercy for Animals.  MFA’s programs focus on legal advocacy, corporate outreach, education, and groundbreaking undercover investigations.  They have been blazing the trail of activism and change for animals for more than fifteen years, leveraging voices for compassion and empowering people to make a difference for animals.

Documenting the conditions at factory farms, MFA’s investigators work tirelessly to reveal the daily suffering of animals. MFA backs those investigations up with legal advocacy that helps hold animals abusers accountable and creates real change.  Their work has led them to fight face-to-face with some of the biggest corporations in the world with winning results.  In exposing cruel conditions and providing in depth education programs and outreach, MFA has helped millions of people choose kindness and compassion.

MFA’s bold and passionate work has certainly met with broad successes for a more humane world through awareness raising and leadership on diverse advocacy campaigns.  MFA has been part of structural and individual impact that extends compassion for animals, with results in the past decade including the following:

• States with laws that ban veal crates, gestation crates, or battery cages has risen from 1 to 10.
• Dozens of supermarkets, restaurant chains, and foodservice companies pledged to eliminate crates or cages from supply chains.
• Increased number of people in the U.S. eating vegetarian or vegan, to an estimated 7%
• Average consumption of animals dropped by roughly 10%
